Dr Kenny Yeap Kim Pey
Dr Kenny Yeap Kim Pey is a healthcare leader driven by a deeply personal mission—to ensure that quality healthcare is not a privilege, but a right accessible to every Malaysian. His journey was shaped early in life by the loss of his father, who was unable to access timely and quality healthcare. With a strong foundation in clinical medicine and a Master of Public Health in Health Services Management and Health Economics, Dr Kenny has consistently bridged frontline care with system-level transformation. His leadership spans public and private sectors, from managing complex neurosurgical cases in government service to driving hospital governance, service development, and accreditation excellence in the private healthcare ecosystem.
As Regional CEO for KPJ East Malaysia and former Medical Director of Borneo Medical Centre Miri, he has led multiple institutions to successful MSQH accreditations, embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and governance discipline. His work has also expanded access—establishing critical services such as cardiac intervention and RT-PCR diagnostics in underserved regions, while advancing healthcare tourism and sustainable growth.
Dr Kenny believes that the future of Malaysian healthcare lies in balancing quality with accessibility. He advocates for private healthcare to play a stronger role in national health delivery—through innovation in financing, decentralised care models, and strategic partnerships—ensuring more Malaysians can benefit from high standards of care.
Aligned with the vision of the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH), Dr Kenny is committed to strengthening accreditation as a national benchmark of excellence, fostering a culture of safety and accountability, and driving system-wide improvements that elevate patient outcomes.
