Overview

OVERVIEW

This workshop aims to bring to the forefront the importance of Risk Management and Patient Safety which are of immediate or emerging concern to al healthcare professionals. The patient safety movement internationally has encouraged risk management professionals to expand their focus to include a proactive, preventive, and a systems approach to understanding hazards. Rather than limiting focus on managing the aftermath of an event, risk management must be integrated into the system and processes of daily healthcare work.

It is also part of the accreditation requirement that healthcare organizations ensure quality services, safe patient care, and safe working environments are initiated, facilitated, promoted, and maintained within the facility through an optimal risk management policy.
